When people pray, powerful things happen.
Our missions department recently received the donation of a car that came with two special requests from the owner: that the car be given to a single mom and that he might leave an anonymous letter for her on the dashboard. You see, the man who owned the car had grown up the son of a single mom and he’d been praying for an opportunity to bless a single mom with this car.
Meanwhile, Angie, one of our single moms with two kids at home, had been faithfully and fervently praying for God to provide them with a car.
Despite being a world away from one another in circumstances and challenges, God saw both of these families and He did something remarkable to answer their prayers.
As you watch this video, I want you to see how the stories of these two families intersect to illustrate the power of prayer.
Since I was a young man pastoring my first congregation, I’ve always been passionate about single moms. Let me tell you, the single moms in our church are a force for the Kingdom. They’re raising up their own leadership teams, empowering and equipping each other, leading small groups and serving others faithfully. That’s the power of the Church!
As we celebrated this story this past weekend on Mother’s Day, I couldn’t help but be impacted once again by the power of spiritual family. In an everyone church, we love, serve and pray for one another.
Here at Milestone, we believe prayer changes things. Let me assure you: God sees you right where you are, in whatever situation you find yourself, and is moving on your behalf.
You have never prayed a prayer that God didn’t hear.

May 12, 2016 at 10:23 pmWhat an amazing God we serve! I have been praying for Angie since November when I saw her walking in front of my house for weeks to meet her kids at school. I knew God was moving in her life. I ran out to ‘happen to be checking the mail’ and stared talking with her. What a passionate woman and an amazing mom!!
So happy for her!!!
