As we approach the end of the year, we love looking back at all the monumental moments of impact that took place throughout the year. At Milestone, we love celebrating all that God has done, while also acknowledging the thousands of people who make it happen through their willingness to serve others—even those whom they may never meet.
In the last four weeks alone, we’ve been able to make a tremendous impact in our community because of the generosity of the Milestone family.
STUDENT SHOE DRIVE
It began in Elevate, our student ministry for 6th-12th grade students that takes place at each of our campuses every Wednesday night. They were given the challenge to bring a pair of brand-new shoes as a donation to a local community clothes house.
After weeks of preparation and prayer, the night of October 22nd came when the students brought the shoes to service. And what we saw was incredible! Altogether, 595 pairs of shoes were donated, with every single box including a handwritten note from our students for the recipient, filled with encouragement and affirmation that God loves them and has a plan for their life.
What was truly remarkable was witnessing the seeds of generosity planted in the hearts of students. One high schooler even saved up enough of his money to buy 18 pairs of shoes! We believe that these shoes will be a blessing for families in need, but it was also an experience the students won’t ever forget.
THANKSGIVING MEAL BOX OUTREACH
Something else Milestone does every year is assemble and distribute meal boxes to those who would otherwise not have a meal for the Thanksgiving holiday. The process begins with Milestone members purchasing the contents needed and dropping them off at the church. Next is a scheduled day for volunteers to assemble all the boxes to be delivered to various Title 1 schools in our area, so families can then come pick up a box.
This year, we were able to double our impact from 2024, resulting in 1,000 boxes being assembled, which will equate to 5,000 people impacted this Thanksgiving through this outreach!
STOCKING LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES
Our most recent opportunity for impact was being able to buy a box truck full of food that helped stock two of our trusted local food pantry partners. This equaled 5.5 tons of food, which will help supply food for over 11,000 people.
This was made possible through the continued generosity of the Milestone family, and our young adults even got to go and be the ones delivering and stocking these pantries that day.
With six more weeks of this year, we still have plans for massive impact in the lives of those in our church and community. As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited and humbled to see how God continues to move and use the people of Milestone to make a difference.
