Am I fulfilling my purpose? Will I leave an impact? How do I know if what I’m doing is making a difference? How do the people I care about see me?
Believe it or not, these are common questions that many of us frequently ask ourselves. They aren’t bad questions—we should desire to make a difference during our time here on earth. But attempting to figure it out on our own can often lead us to become anxious or like we’re coming up short because we try to make progress in our own strength rather than relying on Jesus.
Good fruit only comes from our ability to stay connected to the vine, not in performance or knowing all the answers. Jesus called Himself the True Vine (John 15:1), and we are the branches (John 15:5). We have the opportunity to expand our reach and bear fruit that affects ourselves and others in profound ways. However, once again, unless the vine and branch remain intact, the fruit that is produced won’t last.
As you read the Bible, this was a major theme Jesus spoke about. His motivation was not to endorse performance or striving, but to communicate that our best selves are found in Him alone. The best version of the one life we get to live only happens when we stay rooted in Jesus.
The truth is that He has plans for your life—ones that are amazing, good, and purposeful. This is a promise He makes. If you have lost confidence in this reality, we want to help you grow into who He has created you to be and equip you with the tools you need to see fruit that endures in your life.
