This past weekend was monumental for our church. A meaningful part of my message was when we shared this story about Regina, a single mom and widow of a war vet.
Regina, I’m so proud of you for opening up your heart and being willing to let people in. Thank you for having the courage to share your story and for helping to create an environment at Milestone where people can feel that same love and acceptance.
I’m also proud of the people that saw Regina and pulled her in. Those of you who invited her, warmly welcomed her, cared for her, and loved her. This is how the Church is supposed to be.
None of us are meant to be alone. And when we are alone, His greatest desire for us is to come home. The culture of God’s family is to go and look for those without family and to bring them home to be welcomed into His.
Milestone, you’re doing this! You see those on the margins and with love you bring them in. That is what it’s all about! I’m truly honored to be the pastor of such a generous, authentic everyone church.
Every time you give, you serve, you love someone who’s hurting, you pray for the sick, you invest time in the next generation, you forgive, you worship, you connect others relationally, you’re not playing church. You’re joining God in His eternal purposes.
