Milestone Family, you did it again! Many of you gave up your time and talents to make a difference in the lives of people this Serve Day. It’s always amazing seeing you go out into the community with red shirts, ready to serve however you can. It makes me so proud to be your pastor.
Part of the reason we do events like Serve Day comes from a vision I had years ago to be a church where if we were to disappear tomorrow, the community would miss us. This would indicate we had effectively made a difference in those outside the walls of the church.
Something new I was really excited about doing this year was going into multiple Title 1 schools and providing groceries to families in need. Through this project, 2,000 families were served. If this wasn’t amazing enough, I got to witness one of you praying with a woman who came in and she ended up giving her life to Jesus! This just scratches the surface of the stories we heard as a team about how you loved people.
This is what gets me fired up as a pastor — that we’re not just a group of people on the sidelines but thousands of you got in the game and served people. I like to say that we’re a bigger church with the opportunity to make a bigger impact!
Serve Day 2024 may be over, but the impact made will be felt for years to come. Thank you, Milestone, for being the hands and feet of Jesus wherever you go.
